Damn Fine Cold Brew: A Better Cup of Coffee | We are building a cold brew coffee company to serve up, excuse us, a Damn Fine cup of coffee.
What we do:
First and foremost, we are here to make a Damn Fine cup of Cold Brew. For too long, people have been served cold brew coffee that is bitter, overly fruity and over-extracted. We plan to change that. After years of testing with different beans, roasts, grinds, ratios, methods and magic, we have finally come up with what we believe to be the perfect cup of coffee, hot or cold. Cold brew coffee isn’t just for spring and summer. Just because it is brewed in the cold doesn’t mean it has to be served cold. With our coffee, you can enjoy the less acidic, less bitter, full-bodied flavor of cold brew, steaming hot or ice cold.
Secondly, we want not only to thrive as a business, but to thrive as a community. Through donations, sponsorship and community outreach events, we plan on doing just that. We take pride in being a Veteran-Owned business, and we want to give back as much as we can. We will be working closely with the local Veterans Administration Hospital to provide anything we can to support our Veterans. We will also work closely with other small businesses in an effort to locally source our ingredients.
Overall, we just want to make the world a happier place. We believe that with love, compassion, and some Damn Fine Cold Brew, we’re well on our way.
Why we’re different:
Most of the cold brew we’ve tried has one fundamental flaw: Grinding up beans and letting them soak in water for 12-24 hours. That method technically works, but it doesn’t make for a smooth, velvety, well-balanced cup of cold brew. Too long of a brew time can bring out a back end of bitterness with every sip. We’ve modified our brew time to yield exactly the flavor we are constantly looking for when trying different cold brew. Instead of putting our brew in the corner and letting it sit – out of sight, out of mind – we monitor each batch to ensure that it is brewing exactly the way we want it to. One of the reasons people over-extract their cold brew (simply brewing it too long) is so that they can make it as strong as possible. However, it’s not just about the time. Time needs to go hand-in-hand with proper temperature and an even mixture. We don’t let the grounds just sit on top, they need room to breathe and get to know each other so that ALL of those flavors can come alive! With our proprietary method, we have greatly shortened the brew time, while also delivering a good, strong kick. This means faster production of a higher quality product, and who doesn’t want that?
Where your money will go:
We are already fully licensed in Denver, ready to start brewing and selling. We just lack the necessary funds to make every aspect of our Damn Fine dream a reality. We will be using YOUR contribution for startup costs (kitchen space, supplies, materials, advertising, and popup events to promote our coffee), building our coffee truck (before we build our brick-and-mortar shop, we want to build a coffee truck to travel around Colorado to events and festivals), and above all else, building the future of our business. We want to create a long-lasting community through our company, and we can’t do it without you.
