GymSpark: Automated Workout Tracking Technology | Integrates sensors with weightlifting and cardio equipment to bring data and feedback to your phone.
GymSpark is a fitness technology startup which integrates sensors onto existing gym equipment to provide fitness enthusiasts with essential feedback and statistics. By installing Hall Effect sensors, accelerometers, and Force Sensitive Resistors (FSR), we are able to automatically track weight amounts, rep counts, and workout types, and relay this data directly to the phones of users. This data is then used to provide specifically tailored workout recommendations. Our product distinguishes itself from others on the market because it is automated and removes the complexity of manually entering each exercise, set, and rep. We need your help to put our technology into gyms!
What We Need
We are seeking $5000 in funding to drive us through prototyping and enable us to purchase the hardware necessary to outfit a local gym with our technology. We estimate it to cost $1,250 to install our sensors into a small gym, so this funding will enable us to complete our prototyping stage and allow us to implement our idea and collect valuable feedback. We want to prove our concept on a small scale before looking to grow.
Our manufacturing costs and installation fees are relatively low, so any donation will take us a long way. We are competing in the Duke Startup Challenge, so we have acquired a strong set of mentors who can help us throughout our development. We are very passionate about this product and excited to implement it!
Other Ways You Can Help
