Holey Grail Donuts & Bakery | Bringing a small community their first high end donuts
Who are we:
My Dad and I are a nerdy and goofy Father/Daughter duo working together to bring a small summer village their first high-end donut shop and bakery. Our dream has been to one day open our own bakery, stemming from our backgrounds in baking. Our family has grown up spending weekends and holidays at Pigeon Lake and we consider it to be our second home. My Dad and I are extremely passionate and driven to support our Lake community. Our goal is to keep it local! All fresh fruits, honey and herbs will be supplied by farmers and businesses in the area so we can all help drive the economy.
Meet Dan: Dan is a creative and fun-loving guy who always seeks opportunities to turn a fascinating craft or hobby into something more. He has an extensive background in business and will be leading as Head of Operations and Lead Baker. Dan spends his down-time building miniature fantasy-themed dioramas. Dan is incredibly eager to meet his customers. You won’t catch him ever shying away from a chat, and the jokes won’t stop comin’!
Meet Sabrina: Young and aspiring, Sabrina brings her creativity and passion to her baking. When she is not online with her friends or playing Dungeons and Dragons, her spare time consists of experimenting with flavors and textures to make something truly unique to the consumer. Sabrina gets her outgoing nature from Dan, and together, they are sure to keep the atmosphere lively!
Our mission is to provide a small rural community with their first gourmet bakery. We are excited to collaborate with neighboring businesses in support of all the services that Pigeon Lake and the surrounding areas have to offer.
In addition to supporting the local economy, we value the environment, striving to be as plastic and paper-free as possible. That means using recyclable or compostable packaging, digital recipes in the bakery and e-receipts for customers.
While our main focus is our specialty donuts, we also want to produce unique novelties such as cookies, squares, cupcakes, and cereal treats. As our business grows and we start seeing success, our goal will be to start introducing custom orders, cakes, and bulk products.
How You’re Helping:
With each dollar donated, you will be helping us pay for our bakery equipment, building renovations, ingredient costs, starting wages, as well as costs of operation. Your support will mean that we will have more budget to produce more and better products as well as helping ensure we are able to get started on opening that much sooner and let’s face it, no one wants to wait for donuts.
Risks & Challenges:
Opening a bakery is tough at the best of times, never mind during Covid. We are taking special considerations to make sure we can open up with all the necessary precautions and requirements.
Our biggest obstacle will be managing production and making sure we can make the very best products for our customers. In an area with little to no competition, it will be difficult to gauge how much traffic we will generate, but we are eager and determined to succeed nonetheless. We are both passionate and driven individuals and we will be learning and growing throughout our journey together to give our clients the best bakery experience possible.
