Jackson and Seddon | To create a wine club for UK wine lovers to enjoy and buy great boutique wines from Italy and beyond
About the project
Being able to share my passion with people is my dream. It’s that simple. There are so many incredible wine producers out there that you will never find, or try the wines of because they’re hidden away in little nooks and crannies of the world.
I want to take you on a journey to discover these wines, and tell the story along the way.
How you can help us.
We are asking for £18,000 to get this project to the next stage, which is to ship wines to the UK and distribute them out to you. If we are successful in reaching our target, or exceeding our target, all of our founders will receive a full breakdown of where the funds have been spent and for some, the opportunity to try some of the magnificent wines we have already uncovered.
If we exceed our target, it will enable us to increase our wine portfolio and push the journey along to other parts of Italy and then out across Europe.
Who are Jackson & Seddon
A guy, his dog and two friends in the UK.
I created Jackson and Seddon to allow me to follow my dream. Use my passion for wine and then share that with as many people as possible. The whole journey started with the realisation that I needed to live my life doing something I loved. I lost both my parents by the time I was 35 and that was all the wake up call I needed. I have always been passionate about wine, I always loved the stories of the small producers, how they came up with their name, how they make wine because it’s their passion and why they took up the life of a winemaker in the first place. This all lead me to want to share their stories and their wines on a larger scale. That’s where the business idea came from.
Why am I doing this
I recently finished taking part in a BBC TV series about having a second chance to start a new life, which is how I’ve ended up in Tuscany. While here I met a few small producers of wine, all of which had fantastic stories about how they got here and why they started making wine. None of them export to the UK as they simply don’t have the contacts.
The business idea was plain and simple, I would export their wines and share their stories with my customers. As well as sharing my own story of my journey. I wanted to make it so people know where their wine comes from and they can see the people that make it, and hear their stories. Italy lead the European market in organic wine production, this was another key aspect of the business. Also, organic wine means less of a hangover the next day, which is always a plus
Why I’m asking for your help
To be able to move the business forward we need your help! By pledging your support, you will not only be helping create something extremely unique, you will be supporting the small producers and bringing their incredible wines to the UK market.
The main bulk of you support will go towards getting the first pallet of wine into the UK. This will then lead to us being able to distribute the wines out to customers, which comes with a cost attached too.
So far, I have done a considerable amount of work and sacrificed a huge amount to get the business to where it’s at. But I need your help to take it to the next stage. I have moved Jackson and I to rural Tuscany away from all my friends and family, created a website on an i.o.u. basis. I have set up multiple social media platforms to enable everyone to follow the journey. I have travelled across Tuscany to meet with wine producers and source the first selection of organic wines, I have struck a deal with two friends in Scotland who are going to manage the import and distribution. Which simply leaves buying the wine and shipping it to the UK. Which is where your contributions come in.
For what we are trying to set up, it’s the most logical and practical way to raise the money. One of our rewards is ‘three of the first’ which are the first wines we are going to import. This is quintessentially a pre-order. It means the majority of the first pallet will be paid for by people pre-ordering their first 3 bottles. We then need to pay for the packaging of the wine, distribution and the website, which will become an online shop as well as a story of our journey, keeping everything completely transparent and creating some human interaction.
