Painted Stave Distilling’s Craft Cocktail Garden | Help us build a cocktail garden to accompany our craft distillery!
Just over four years ago we, Ron Gomes and Mike Rasmussen, opened Painted Stave Distilling in downtown Smyrna, Delaware. We started with a dilapidated old movie theater and in time have turned it into a premier destination in Smyrna for great spirits and great cocktails. It has been an amazing amount of hard work and fun along the way, and we have come to a place where we want and need to grow the business so it can be the wonderful place we want for our community.
To accomplish that, in the last year we have purchased the building and surrounding lots, and are working to expand our footprint on both the production/distillery side as well as on the Craft Cocktail side. A key part of our expansion includes building a great outdoor space on the west side of our building, what we call our Craft Cocktail Garden. We envision a space where our community of friends and supporters can come together and enjoy great drinks along with art, music, and other community events. With your support, we can raise these funds and transform what is now an empty lot into one of the coolest outdoor spaces in the region.
We Need Your Help:
To make this space a reality, we need your help. The cost to build out space we dream of and meet all of the state and local codes along the way will be about $50,000. That money will pay for things we need, like:
A patio area along with tables, chairs, firepits, and sunshades so that our friends have a nice place to sit ($20,000)
A fence for the garden that includes ADA/Emergency gates as well as landscaping to provide a visual barrier for our neighbors we are located right next to a Church!) ($13,000)
A paved space so food trucks have a place to park and the power they need to run safely and with no noisy generators! ($3,000)
A stage that can be used for music and art performances ($2,000)
An expanded utility area with a fence to hide our water tanks and chiller ($4,000)
Grass and other landscaping, including an irrigation system to keep it all alive ($5,000)
- An ADA access door into the existing tasting/cocktail bar ($3,000)
In exchange for your support in building the Craft Cocktail garden, we have come up with a bunch of great perks. These start off with some fun swag and bottles of spirits and work their way up to great private classes, dinners, lots of beverages and even the chance to get your name tattooed on Mike’s butt (some restrictions apply)! We are planning what is sure to be a great garden party to kick off the opening of the space, surely something you don’t want to miss.
The more money we bring in during the campaign, the more of this we will be able to add to the garden. We need to complete the required pieces first (fences, access doors, etc.) and then we will focus on the things that will make the Craft Cocktail Garden an awesome location right in the center of our town.
